Saturday September 3rd

Game 1
6:30pm

The 7th grade girl's first game was against the Roseville Rebels.  The girls played well and came away with a win, 57-23.  The highlight of the game was meeting and playing against a former Sting teammate.  The girls shot 43% for the game, had 14 turnovers, 12 assists and 21 steals.  Samantha Look and Lynette Sandoval had 4 steals each, Robin Clawson and Benissa Bulaya each had 3 assists, Kristen Schleeter and Katie Simon had 7 rebounds apiece.   Katie Simon also led the way with 10 points, Hillary Stewart had 9, and Rebecca Ciszewski and Courtney Boyle each added 8 in limited playing time.

Sunday, September 4th

Game 2
9:00am

The first game of the day was against the Jam On It 8th Grade team.  This game was the best game of the tournament.  Both teams played extremely well and the game was tied at the end of regulation, 35-35.  The game then went to 3 overtimes before finally being decided in 'sudden death' overtime number 4 on a free throw by Jam On It.  Both teams had numerous chances to win it in the overtimes but bad passes, missed free throws and hurried shots ruled the day.  Rebecca Ciszewski was lost midway in the game with an ankle sprain.  The girls shot 35% for the game, 9 of 24 from the stripe, had 30 turnovers, 5 assists and only 7 steals.  Rebecca Ciszewski had 4 steals, Robin Clawson had 2 assists, and Katie Simon 9 rebounds.   Courtney Boyle led the scoring with 17 points and Katie Simon added 10.

Game 3
3:15pm

The girls then played the Big O Wildcats of Roseville for 3rd place and a trophy.  The team was bummed before the game even began as they had been told that they would be playing for 1st place by the Jam On It coach from the previous game as he said he would forfeit his place for us as we played so well against them that we deserved it, but the NBA coach said no way.  The girls were down by as much as 22 points before rallying at the end of the game but came up a little short.  The girls shot a miserable 25% for the game, 5 of 20 from the charity stripe, had 21 turnovers, 5 assists and 16 steals.  Katie Simon had 8 steals and 12 rebounds and Samantha Look had 4 steals, 3 assists and 1-3 3-pointers.   Courtney Boyle led the scoring with 13 points, Katie Simon added 5 and Robin Clawson also had 5 points with 1 3-pointer.
